I didn’t find out about bamboo pajamas until my daughter was about two months old. I saw another mom post a photo of their new babe in the cutest Christmas cookie pjs and I had to have it too! I was immediately hooked! There are so many adorable designs, not to mention the softness of the bamboo fabric and sizes for the whole family to wear! I’ve since tried a number of different companies and have compiled a list of my favorites!

Are bamboo pajamas worth the price?
I’ll be honest, the first time I went to purchase those adorable Christmas cookie jammies I mentioned earlier, it was hard to click that ‘Submit Order’ button. I think I had a little case of sticker shock. I was used to shopping the big name brands of zipper jammies at Target and on Amazon that usually ran $20 or less. The $35-$40 per pair of bamboo jammies sounded a little crazy to me, especially as a new mom on a tight budget. But, they’re super stretchy, thermoregulating (cool in the summer and warm in the winter), eco friendly and great for sensitive skin. Plus, they carry a good resale value (depending on the brand and how in demand that print is). Not all brands are created equal and some run more true to size than others, but in general, you will get much more wear from a pair of bamboo jammies than the store bought ones. For me, they are worth the investment, a few pairs will last us all year and are cute enough that we wear them for going out too, not just for sleep.
What’s special about bamboo baby pajamas?
Bamboo is a moisture-wicking fabric that is thermoregulating. If your kids run hot, bamboo is an excellent choice for clothing or pjs. It’s also an excellent choice for babies and kids with sensitive skin or eczema. Bamboo brands tend to be tag-less, super soft, and won’t irritate even the most sensitive skin.
How do you wash bamboo clothes?
Most companies recommend washing bamboo pieces in cool water and hanging or laying flat to dry. Personally, I find that washing everything inside out keeps the print colors from fading as fast as washing right side out. I wash all of our bamboo in cold water, tumble dry on low or hang to dry.
In no particular order, here are some of my top ranked baby bamboo pajamas based on my own personal reviews.
Little Sleepies
If you’re familiar with bamboo pajamas before reading this post, chances are you’ve heard of Little Sleepies. They have a massive following and collaborate with some of the biggest names out there like Disney and Once Upon a Farm. Plus, they drop new prints every Tuesday! You can find products for the whole family including zippies for the tiniest preemies all the way up to matching jammies for mom and dad. They also have blankets, loveys, crib sheets and even underwear! Be sure to join their Facebook VIP group here for early access to drops and exclusive coupon codes.
Bums & Roses
Bums & Roses has a little something for everyone in the family! From newborn swaddles to dresses for mom and joggers for dad, you’re sure to find something to love here. I’m obsessed with the Livin’ la cheetah loca print and bought size ups so my baby girl will be able wear these cute baby bamboo pajamas for the next few years. We also bought the crib sheets, bum bum blanket, headband and lovey! It’s safe to say I am living my best life through my baby girls attire. Join the VIP group here and be sure to use this coupon code BUY2GET1 when you buy and 2 rompers/footies/dresses/pajamas and get 1 romper/footie/dress/pajamas FREE! An added bonus is they have excellent customer service. I’ve had to exchange a few pieces for a larger size and it was such a breeze.

Kiki + Lulu
Kiki + Lulu might be my favorite in terms of material. Their jammies just feel a bit thicker than some others. Plus, their footies have silicone grips on the bottom that I personally love. Their most recent drop, Simply the Zest, is just perfect for summer! They have some adorable hand drawn patterns and were my go to for Easter jammies this year. I also stocked up on a variety of other prints and sizes because I just love the playful nature of their prints. Kyte Baby
Kyte Baby is another leader in bamboo apparel and accessories. They are my number one go to for Sleep Sacks as they carry a wide selection of colors, sizes and weights. My baby girl never wanted to be swaddled – she always wanted her arms out! So we began putting her in a sleep sack early on. We just ordered a lightweight .5 TOG sleep sack for summertime, and in a bright summery color! Her room gets really warm during the afternoon/evening, so this is perfect and I don’t have to worry about her getting too hot. Snuggle Bums
My favorite thing about Snuggle Bums is their Mystery Print Monday Sale! You basically purchase this weeks drop without seeing it first. They will usually provide a pretty good hint and let you know if it is a girly pattern, boyish, or gender neutral. We ordered the Mystery Print for Slice Slice Baby which is a super cute pizza pattern. Their footies are slightly oversized, so we will get plenty of wear out of them. They tend to sell out quickly on drop day, so be sure to join their VIP group on Facebook so that you don’t miss out!

Birdie Bean
Birdie Bean carries some of the sweetest, most fun and colorful prints I’ve been able to find. I was lucky enough to snag their restock for St. Patricks Day and have since added quite a few more rompers to my collection. They have adorable ruffle butt peplum sets, loungewear for the whole family, bedding and even bandanas for your pets. Their rompers run true to size and are super soft and colorful. Soulbaby
Soulbaby is a small family owned company with jammies for the whole family. I bought their candy hearts cozy for Valentine’s Day and even though I had to size up because I was a little late to the drop, I cannot wait until baby girl grows into these jammies! They are super soft, vibrant and the perfect addition to our collection. They are dropping a Hey Bear collab in May so be sure to join the VIP group on Facebook so you don’t miss out!
Larkspur Baby Company
Larkspur is another great option if you want the look and feel of bamboo clothing without the price tag. They have a great selection of neutral color bodysuits, rompers, footies and sleep sacks. Our favorites are the crib sheets, long sleeve rompers and sleep sack. Their sleep sacks are rated a 1.5 TOG, or a medium weight and perfect for temperatures between 68-72 degrees. Bamboo crib sheets are a must have in our home. They are breathable, cool to the touch and super easy to clean. They also have a rewards program to help you earn free products.
Guisby on Amazon
If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to dip your toes into the world of bamboo baby clothes, this brand I found on Amazon is a great option. One of my favorite ways to style my baby (especially during the colder months) is to dress her in a solid color romper with a cute sweatshirt layered overtop. These rompers and footies run true to size, come in a small variety of solid colors and still have that high quality buttery soft feel even after multiple washes.
Showstoppers Baby Bamboo Pajamas
Showstoppers is a fairly new bamboo clothing company, so most of their products are currently preorders only with a turn around time of 1-2 months. I was able to get my hands on one of their ready to ship convertible zip rompers, even if it is too big to wear quite yet, and oh my gosh, all of my childhood memories watching my favorite Disney movies came flooding back! The material is super soft and vibrant and they release new designs every Friday. You can’t beat the prices on their preorders, so go join the VIP group on Facebook for more info on what’s coming up next!

So, in conclusion, is bamboo worth it?
For me, yes. I love the uniqueness, the long wearability and the overall look and feel of bamboo. It is of course 100% your personal choice, but if you have kids with sensitive skin who might get rashes easily, it’s a good option to try. The companies listed above are my personal favorites, however there are so many other brands out there. I’d love to hear more about your favorites!
