By choosing to take a holistic approach and choosing to try natural remedies for pregnancy symptoms before resorting to medications, you are not only alleviating some annoying pregnancy symptoms, but you’re also enhancing your overall health and well-being! Tips for Pregnancy Morning Sickness

  • Sip on ginger tea: Ginger has been used for centuries to alleviate nausea. Steep fresh ginger slices in hot water or pick up some organic ginger tea bags for a soothing and effective remedy.
  • Opt for small, frequent meals: Eating smaller meals throughout the day can help keep your stomach settled. Avoiding spicy, greasy, and overly fatty foods may also help prevent nausea.
  • Identify triggers: Pay attention to specific smells, foods, or situations that trigger your morning sickness and try to avoid them.

Aches and Pains

  • Prenatal yoga: Attend prenatal yoga classes or follow along with online videos designed specifically for pregnant women. Yoga poses and gentle stretches can help alleviate backaches and promote flexibility. This yoga program is one of my favorites because you can use it during and after pregnancy, but there are also some great free programs on YouTube!
  • Regular stretching: Incorporate daily stretching into your routine to relieve muscle tension and improve circulation. Focus on areas prone to discomfort, such as your back, hips, and legs.
  • Epsom salt baths: Soak in a warm bath infused with Epsom salts. The magnesium in Epsom salts can help relax muscles and reduce inflammation.

Sleep Disturbances

  • Establish a bedtime routine: Develop a calming routine before bed to signal to your body that it’s time to unwind. This can include activities like reading a book, taking a warm bath, or practicing relaxation techniques.
  • Deep breathing exercises: Practice deep breathing exercises to promote relaxation and release tension. Take slow, deep breaths, and focus on exhaling fully.
  • Soothing music: Create a soothing playlist or find calming sounds to play as you prepare for sleep. Soft instrumental music or nature sounds can help you relax and drift off to sleep.
